Two different chart types — same-name confusion
Two-person Human Design charts and small-group (3–5 people) charts are mechanically different. People sometimes use the same words ("Penta," "team chart," "partnership") for both, but they aren't the same. myBodyGraph creates the two-person chart; the small-group Penta Chart is a separate chart type that lives elsewhere.
What you want | Where it lives |
Two-person chart — Connection / Composite / Partnership / Relationship Chart | myBodyGraph (this article) |
Penta Chart / Penta Graph — 3 to 5 people, showing what's defined between the Sacral, G, and Throat centers | MaiaMechanics Online (MMO) or MMI — both offer BG5: Business Analysis Edition |
Personal Success analysis content about your own (or anyone's) Penta Gates and Penta Channels | myBodyGraph — Personal Success Analysis ($129 Single Chart Unlock or Pro tier) |
Connection Charts on myBodyGraph (two people)
A Connection Chart combines two people's charts to show how they connect — connection themes, electromagnetic connections, compromise, dominance, companionship, and the gates of love. Connection Charts are also called Composite, Partnership, or Relationship Charts (the mechanical name is Connection or Composite Chart; "Partnership" and "Relationship" are the common conversational names).
Access needed: Connect tier or higher for the Partnership Analysis. You can also unlock the Partnership Analysis for one specific Connection Chart with the Partnership Single Chart Unlock ($49) — lifetime access on that chart.
Steps to create a Connection Chart:
Make sure both individual charts are in your Chart Library. If they aren't, create them first via + New > Personal Chart.
Click + New in the top bar, then choose Connection Chart.
Click Select First Chart and pick one chart from your library.
Click Select Second Chart and pick the other.
Give the Connection Chart a name (e.g., "Alex + Jamie").
Click Create Chart. The Connection Chart appears in your library and opens.
Where the Partnership Analysis appears: once the Connection Chart opens, the Partnership Analysis content fills the right-hand reading pane, with section navigation along the right edge — Get Started, Foundational Properties, Connection Theme, Center Dynamics, Electromagnetic Connections, Dominance, Compromise, and Companionship. The two charts sit side-by-side on the left for reference. There is no separate "Partnership tab" — the Partnership Analysis is simply what fills the analysis pane whenever a Connection Chart is the selected chart.
Penta Charts / Penta Graphs (3–5 people) — not in myBodyGraph
A Penta Chart (also called a Penta Graph or Business Penta Graph) combines 3 to 5 people into a single visualization that shows only what becomes activated and defined between the Sacral, G, and Throat centers — the engine of group productivity in Human Design's business mechanics.
myBodyGraph does not create Penta Charts. To create one, you'll want either:
MaiaMechanics Online (MMO) — the BG5: Business Analysis Edition plan creates Penta Graphs and other BG5 chart views.
MMI (Maia Mechanics Imaging — the Windows desktop software) — the BG5: Business Analysis Edition does the same on desktop.
See What does "BG5" mean — and where do I find what I'm looking for? for the full BG5 routing breakdown.
What myBodyGraph does for Penta material
Even though myBodyGraph doesn't create the Penta Chart, it does include Personal Success Analysis — which contains the analysis content about the Penta Gates and Penta Channels that any individual chart has activated. That's where you read about what each person's Penta-related activations mean.
Personal Success Analysis is available as either the $129 Single Chart Unlock (for one specific chart) or the Pro tier (unlimited charts in your library, plus AI Ra trained on the material). A common workflow for someone working with a small group is: create the Penta Chart in MMO or MMI to see the small-group dynamics, then read the Personal Success Analysis on each individual chart in myBodyGraph to understand the underlying Penta Gates and Channels.
